Gulf Oil Spill Jobs

How fast can you design an emergency web site? Very fast if it’s about the gulf oil spill. We got the call Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon we were online. A week later we were #1 on Google nationally and soon over 10,000 people signed up to help clean up the oil spill. The web site lets workers, boat owners, and subcontractors in the gulf sign up to be paid to protect the beaches and clean them up wherever the oil spill strikes. We linked that database to email software so workers can be easily contacted.

How did we get top-ranked on Google so fast? We knew we’d be competiting with all the news media covering the oil spill, so to beat them, we created our own news site and then wrote and released a press release that was reprinted in over a hundred newspapers and on national news sites. With all those inbound links coming to our site, Google quickly decided we were important enough to feature us.

This web site is designed within the WordPress content management system so the client can add and edit articles using only a web broswer.
